Why We Started NexStep
We’ve seen firsthand how patients and families are too often left to navigate a fragmented healthcare system on their own—bouncing between providers and hospitals, with no one truly connecting the dots. This lack of coordination not only leads to confusion and frustration, but also to poorer outcomes and unnecessary stress during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.
We’ve also lived it—helping our own families through the healthcare maze and witnessing the time, energy, and advocacy it takes to ensure someone receives the care they deserve. That’s what inspired us to start NexStep Health: a more coordinated, proactive approach to care. Because healthcare should feel like you have a doctor, nurse, and care coordinator in your family—so you can finally exhale, knowing someone’s always in your corner.

Olan Soremekun MD, MBA
Founder, Medical Director

Dr. Olan Soremekun is a dedicated physician, healthcare innovator, and leader with a passion for improving patient care and access. He earned his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration from Columbia University and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Harvard University (Mass General Brigham).
With extensive experience in both clinical and operational leadership, Dr. Soremekun has held key positions, including Vice Chair of Clinical Operations at Jefferson Health and Vice President of Value-Based Programs at Cigna Medicare. His expertise lies in optimizing healthcare delivery, enhancing patient experiences, and driving value-based care initiatives.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Soremekun is a devoted family man, living in Bergen County with his wife and two children. His commitment to both his family and his mission in healthcare reflects his dedication to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those he serves.
Largeta Asani RN, BSN

With a passion for nursing and a dedication to patient care, Largeta Asani is a registered nurse with nine years of experience, six of which have been spent in the fast-paced world of emergency medicine. Graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Seton Hall University, Largeta has built a reputation for being an empathetic, approachable, and compassionate caregiver.
Beyond her professional expertise, Largeta is a proud mother of two and finds joy in spending time outdoors, especially by the beach. Her warm and welcoming nature extends far beyond the clinical setting, she has a natural ability to make everyone feel like family. Whether she’s comforting a patient or chatting with a new acquaintance, Largeta’s genuine kindness shines through.

Scott lives with his wife and two daughters, Stephanie and Alexis, and cherishes quality time with his family. Outside of work, he enjoys being outdoors and making the most of nature with his loved ones.

A Board-Certified Case Manager (CCM), Lisa is honored to serve on the Board of the Commission for Case Management Certification (CCMC), where she helps shape the future of case management standards and best practices. In addition to her extensive healthcare background, Lisa is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and an attorney by training, bringing a unique blend of legal and clinical expertise to her work.

In 2020, Lorenna co-founded a logistics business, where she served as Director of Operations, overseeing a fleet and team providing last-mile delivery services until 2024. Transitioning her expertise into real estate, she is now a licensed real estate salesperson, serving clients from Westchester County to Dutchess County.
Originally from Bergen County, Lorenna has called New York home for over 15 years. She enjoys spending time with family, cooking, outdoor activities, and pursuing creative projects, always bringing her passion and dedication to everything she does.
