Olan Soremekun MD, MBA
Medical Director
Dr. Olan Soremekun is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with over 20 years of experience caring for patients in the home, hospital, and outpatient settings. He earned both his medical degree and MBA from Columbia University and completed his emergency medicine residency at Harvard University (Mass General Brigham). With a deep understanding of both clinical care and the healthcare system—including insurance navigation—Dr. Soremekun has dedicated his career to making care more personalized, accessible, and easier to manage for patients and families.
He has held leadership roles at major health systems and insurers, including serving as Vice President of Value-Based Programs at Cigna Medicare, where he helped design care models that improve outcomes while reducing complexity for patients. He has published more than 15 peer-reviewed articles on healthcare quality and safety and serves on the editorial board of The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety. Now based in Bergen County, Dr. Soremekun founded NexStep Health to offer high-touch, physician-led concierge care—bringing clarity, coordination, and peace of mind to every step of the healthcare journey.
While healthcare has advanced, the system remains broken. It’s through collaboration and the extra time and care from doctors, nurses, and coordinators that better outcomes and patient experiences are achieved.
